ROM Preparation Part 1

I can officially say that I'm getting married.

Besides that, it's been a crazy few months of unemployment (lol). It has been extremely difficult finding for a new stall. With the crazy rental rates and locations that doesn't fit.

My poor fiancé is working very hard to make things work! (With him working his ass off so I can take my time to look for a good shop)

Back to the ROM topic thou, I mean we have been together for almost 9 years. Like WTF. A crazy long time.

Date

We filed for marriage as we planning to get our legal documents signed on the date we want. Because of the Year 2017.

I mean we got together on the 17th January 2008
So getting married on the 17th January 2017 will be nice right?!

And being a typical chinese... a traditional one, we always choose a good auspicious date to do things like get married, opening a new store, moving in to a new house.

The lady who read the date to us referred my date as a terrible inauspicious date!! OH HELL NO.

We were super disappointed!!! Like WHAT'S THE POINT!!!!! WHAT'S THE POINT OF GETTING MARRIED SO EARLY?!?!!??! :(

Alternative dates were:

7 July 2017

And others that I can't be bothered to mention. -_-

We talked about it and I was like "How about the 7th January 2017?"
We both looked at each other wide eyed and nodded. That was the date.

7th January 2017

My mother wasn't really happy with us keep switching dates. (lol) As we told her like 3 dates in like a month of decision.

Don't blame me, blame the date.

Venue

Nick and I don't really have a preference in venue, but we wanted it to be very private.

To have limited amount of guests (Like a maximum of 30-35pax). As we are planning to have a Chinese customary dinner in 2018,  there is no reason why I have to invite as much people to our ROM.

I mean, if you are not close to that person in either way. Why will he want to listen to you exchanging your vows?! There is no meaning to that, so NOPE.

First off:

Sofitel So Singapore

There was two parts to it, a Villa Du Jardin (30pax) or Spice Point (60pax)

Looks so good on the picture I had to quickly e-mail the hotel representative. We exchanged many e-mails, going back and forth on confirming a DATE to view the location.  First time it was the rain, she has to last minute cancel my appointment thru an e-mail. -_-

Never mind of that, tried to follow up but almost all dates that I'm available, the Villa is not available for viewing. Or either way around. It was so devastating. TOTALLY GIVEN UP.

Really no fate, Bo bian.

Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore

Super nice Ocean dome to solemnise. I mean what can you complain about?

Only thought that maybe the coordinator was bit stuck up with the replies to my e-mails. So I didn't bother to carry on with the viewing of location. Of cause, the timing of viewing was a bit off for us.

Fullerton Bay Hotel, Singapore

Went to view the place, very intimate indeed. There are 3 pods available, and only one that has the best view of the riverfront and Marina Bay Sands.

If you have pax for about 20-30 maximum. This place will be to-go for. But we were going thru our guest list and realised we have about 35 guests so we will have to forgo this beautiful place.

Goodwood Park Hotel

In the end, we settled with Goodwood Park Hotel Poolside Terrace. This hotel brings out the colonial feel. Which is something I like and feel nostalgic about.

Situated at the start of Orchard road, super convenient for my friends that do not drive and which most of them stay in CCK. (Bus 190 Yay)

The buffet menu given to us to choose from is HUGE. Lots of variety. (Will update next time after I confirmed the menu)

We planned the event to be at dinner time because of the outdoor venue. (Afraid will be too hot for everyone) That's the only bad point, other than that, I love this place.

The catering team manager, was very nice when liaising. Was attentive to what we were looking for, and prompt in replies. Which I appreciate and feel thankful about.

I feel the coordinators are the ones that play a big part in your wedding planning! So it is always super important to find someone who can take that responsibility to make the couple feel good about their big day!

Others.. I will leave for part two. There is too many things to add in this ROM preparation post. May be too lengthy!

Yawnz... typing at 7.30am with only 3 hours of sleep is no joke. Going back to rest now. Goodnight world.

Genting Highlands

I'm going off to Genting tomorrow
Just a short getaway before coming back to focus on looking for a new store.

Time flies, it is already the 31st May! Hell of a ride yes. Officially half of my year is gone.

Missing you as always Daddy.

Our First Home: Waterfront I @ Northshore Residences

It's been long since I last posted anything here.

It's time for a UPDATE!

We have chosen our HDB unit! FINALLY.

We waited forever for a project like this. How Love and I wanted a Sea Front living space. And we finally got it.

4 years back, both of us used to go to Marina Country Club for pay pond fishing. Before all the fences and development went on. We always talk about how we could stay here (If there is any development) and have a quiet home despite Singapore being a bustling city.

I guess is just our fate lor!!!!! And mostly great luck to get this!

Back in the day we tried balloting for many many BTOs. (Dawson, Clementi etc) We couldn't get any queue number, but for this project we managed to get it. Even thou our balloting number suck as shit.

Balloting number 410 over 435. Holy crap.

But we still managed to get a high floor for block 415A located at Waterfront I (We didn't have much choices) . I guess everyone tried avoiding the block due to a island in front of us. Which is a temporary dormitory. But with that being said, our unit is situated on the right side of the block structure and as we are on the higher floor that shouldn't be a problem for us in any way thou. Doesn't bother us either.

We actually considered getting 420C which comes with a balcony but on the 4th floor. Because of the low floor, we didn't want to face directly to Pasir Gudang port as he is worried that the air pollution will trigger my asthma.

Damn if you do and damn if you don't. WE STILL GOT IT ANYWAY!

I'm so happy, Love is so happy and we are so darn happy.

A cheaper alternative to Sentosa Cove. *Comforts Myself*

Have to show off the file

Our Floor Plan

This is the actual floor plan for our unit

I think many people will shun this floor plan as there is a weird bedroom separated from the remaining two bedrooms. A weird ass study area on the right when you enter thru the main door. But I feel that is the best layout for us. Will share it in my next blog post!

Conclusion

I never regretted getting this and I will not. I mean it is at the very end of Punggol.  Personally I do see potential in this seafront project even thou I really do not like Punggol as a whole. Too overrated and too many people. But that's my personally opinion lah. So I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Till next! :)

Oh Shit

Oh Shit. Is July once again. 15 of July to be exact. I'm officially 22. How time flies.

Bad year to start with. Being all stressful for the past few months sucks.

Shag like fuck

Actually come to think of it, the background of my house is quite nice. Lol.

Boyfriend is very curious and shock that I'm still blogging for nuts now. But whatever. I guess I enjoy writing as much as making myself stress.

My stall is opening soon!!
(Yukie Agrees)

Signing off as I have to wake at 5.30am in the morning Z.Z oh god.
